"Federighi was a member of the UM faculty for 32 years, joining the UM community in 1974. She was particularly influenced by American Indian and other tribal art. Federighi was a five-time recipient of the State of Florida’s Individual Artist Grants, a National Endowment for the Arts awardee, and a Virginia A. Groot Foundation fellow. She served for thirty-two years as head of the ceramics department at the University of Miami.
