Fong Choo Biography. Singapore-born, American-educated studio potter residing in Louisville, Kentucky USA. My diminutive teapots are my core signature pieces; though, of late, I’ve dedicated myself to rounds of new exploration. Vessels of interest are teacups, mugs, and as Dr. Lagerstrom described ‘eccentrically beautiful’ bowls.

    Fong Choo Bio: In early January of , Choo, a native of the Republic of Singapore, a tiny independent nation in South East Asia came to the US to pursue a college degree.

Choo teaches his students to network and promote themselves and their art — an art form he feels art education lacks. Currently, his major project is creating a giant-sized teapot to contrast his small-scale works.

    Fong Choo is a Singapore-born American studio potter and teacher who creates diminutive, sculptural porcelain teapots. He is best known for his use of low-fire commercial glazes, firing them to Cone 6 to achieve luscious, jewel-tone effects.
